Ian Bird

I'm currently a Staff Android Engineer at Twitter, responsible for our low-level  media integration. This includes our Android video upload pipeline as well as core playback. I'm fortunate enough to work with an incredibly skilled team and am always learning more, something I'm keen to share.

Before Twitter, I spent 9 years helping build Plex, a personal media streaming platform. Over the years, I was responsible for writing numerous client integrations, including Android, Xbox One and Windows UWP. Before leaving, I was an Engineering Director leading their native development teams.
